During the Warring States period in China, general Ma Su (馬謖) disobeyed orders and lost a battle. His leader, Zhuge Liang, valued Ma Su's service and friendship, but to maintain order, Liang had no choice but to punish him. So, Liang cried泣 as he sliced斬 Ma Su (馬謖) with his sword, killing him.
